It's well known that promotional items are valuable marketing tools. Giving away smaller items like pens and key chains often and in a variety of locations helps to build your brand and familiarize your company name by spreading it far and wide and by reaching people in situations that print and broadcast advertising do not. They promote customer appreciation and loyalty as well. But did you know that promotional items also serve a variety of functions inside the workplace?
Promotional items make great Christmas and birthday presents for your employees. They can also be given out when employees reach certain sales milestones or meet specific quotas. Embroidered sweatshirts or jackets, portfolios, tote-bags and coffee mugs are great ways to show your appreciation for your employees' hard work, and they provide an incentive for continued excellence in the office.
More expensive, higher quality promotional items can be awarded to employees when they get promoted or at retirement parties. Desk clocks, nice watches and fountain pens with the company name, the employee's name and their years of service engraved on them work well for such occasions.
You don't need a special occasion to make your employees feel appreciated, though. You'll be surprised how effective a "just because" gift can be at building morale. Consider handing out umbrellas imprinted with the company logo at the start of the spring rains, or windbreakers when the weather begins to cool. A happy employee is a productive employee, and promotional gifts are an excellent way of keeping your valued workers happy.
