| Website Awareness |
So you've decided to join the 21st century and get a website? You've bought the space and hired someone for design and upkeep. You're ready to go. Now how do you get people to visit the damn thing?
Here are some ideas: - Advertise it. Use direct mail, radio, television and billboards to let people know that you're now online.
- Start adding your URL to all business-related documents. Put it on faxes, mailing labels, stationary, checks, flyers and brochures, etc.
- Send out press releases.
- Put links and banner ads on related websites.
- Get your URL listed in the yellow pages.
- Add your URL to the signature line in all your letters and emails.
- Have your URL painted on all your company vehicles.
- Start putting your URL on promotional products like shirts, mugs, pens and magnets.
- If you have a company newsletter, run an article about the site.
- Reset your voice mail messages to include your URL. Do the same for your hold messages.
- Send out internet postcards.
- Find appropriate newsgroups and message or discussion boards and post messages. Include your URL in your signature line.
- Put a "recommend this site to a friend" option on your website.
- Put a sign up in your store.
- Buy ad space on search engine sites like Excite or Alta Vista.
