When people enter the show floor at a trade show, they are bombarded with a barrage of different companies and booths. At times, it can be a little overwhelming. In order to make sure you continue to reach buyers, follow these tips.
Doing some pre-trade show work is ideal. Find out some of the hotels that are full of trade show-goers and put a complimentary flyer, pen, or other product in their room with your company logo on it. If possible, set up and leave complimentary products at the hotel's continental breakfast. This way when buyers enter the show floor, they will recognize your logo and be familiar with your product.
Dress up your employees in nice polo shirts with your company logo. That way even when they're not in the booth people will recognize your logo.
Every company will give away something at their booth, but to set yourself apart from the crowd, check-up with the customers after they've been given the gift to make sure everything's okay. If something is wrong and the gift isn't working anymore, apologize and send them over a new one right away. This will embed in the customer's mind that you take pride in providing quality products.
Lastly, one little hint for spreading the word about your company. Keep on hand a bunch of nice, quality pens and whenever a customer uses one at your booth, tell them it's there's to keep, compliments of your company. They'll put the pen away with a smile and remember your company every time they use it.
While all of the tips will be helpful in reaching buyers, nothing is more important that being available, polite and someone customers want to be around. And, as always, remember to do everything with a smile!
